In the spring of 2018 I was one of a small group of Benedictine College students who, under the sponsorship of the College's Discovery Day program, designed a series of bicycle racks for the City of Atchison's new bike share program. The bike racks were intended to be representative of local history.

I designed this bike rack to resemble a biplane in honor of Amelia Earhart, who was born in Atchison. I generated a parts list, bill of materials, and complete assembly instructions. Along with my group, I presented the design to representatives of the Atchison city council as well as BC professors and classmates.

The bike rack is compact, yet it is capable of holding up to six bicycles. While unique and eye-catching, the design is clearly identifiable as a bike rack. It features rotating propellors and the bike share logo coherently integrated into the design.
