Bike Rack Design

Bike rack design for local Bike Share program

In the spring of 2018 I was one of a small group who, under the sponsorship of my College, designed a series of bicycle racks for my city's new bike share program. The bike racks were intended to be representative of local history.

I designed this bike rack to resemble an aeroplane in honor of a local aviation pioneer. I generated a parts list, bill of materials, and complete assembly instructions. Along with my group, I presented the design to representatives of the city council, professors, and classmates.

The bike rack is compact, yet capable of holding up to six bicycles. While unique and eye-catching, the design is clearly identifiable as a bike rack. It features rotating propellors and the bike share logo coherently integrated into the design.
